Russian trio Tesla Boy are a 80s-esque new wave / synthpop band formed in 2008 in Moscow.  Often compared to Cut/Copy and other electro bands, they are the first Russian band to get real media  attention since t.A.T.u. But the comparison stops there. How to configure a Cpanel email account to receive email on your an Iphone

If like me you use your Cpanel email accounts for your domains with your hosting provider then you probably don’t want to miss an all important email from a client. Below is a quick setup guide to get you started

Assumptions:

You have already created a new email account in your hosting providers cpanel.

Instructions

From the main Iphone screen, click Settings.

Under Settings, select Mail.

Select Add Account

Select Other as the type of account.

Enter the requested information:

Name: the name of the mail user

Address: the email address of the mail user

Description: a description of the mail user

Host Name: enter the mail server mail.yourdomain.com (incoming mail server & external mail server)

User Name: enter the full email address (incoming mail server and external mail server) E.g. support@yourdomain.com

Password: enter the users password (incoming mail server and external mail server)

Click Save.

If you see a message that says “Cannot Connect Using SSL”, click “Yes” when asked to setup the account without SSL.

Click “Save”.

Click Settings for the account you just created.

Click Advanced.

Set Incoming “Uses SSL” and Outgoing Use SSL to “OFF”.

Under Incoming settings, click Authentication and select Password.

Under Outgoing settings, click Authentication and select Password.

Now send an email to the new email address you created and wait for your Iphone to ping with a new email

SNSD's 3rd album has sold out over 100.000 copies

Kabar terbaru dari girlband pemikat hati samchon tercinta kita, SNSD. Menurut survey yang dilakukan
oleh sebuah kampanyon, album ketiga SNSD telah berhasil terjual hingga melebihi angka 100.000 copy.
Wow, banyak sekali ya. Bajakan atau asli semua ya?

Sementara itu, seperti yang kita ketahui, single genit mereka yang berjudul Oh! telah berhasil menduduki peringkat pertama di berbagai music chart. Dan albumnya sendiri telah terjual lebih dari 150.000 copy. Tapi mereka tidak bisa puas begitu saja, mereka masih berharap kalau album tersebut dalam terjual melebihi angka 200.000 copy secepatnya.
Namun sayang sepertinya, tahta mereka sebagai jawara music chart akan segera tergeser dengan comebacknya beberapa girlband akhir bulan ini.

Mengenai dengan jumlah fantastis penjualan album tersebut yang lumayan langka di korea, seorang kampanyon berkomentar, “Penjualan SNSD adalah penjualan terbaik di korea. Mereka adalah perwakilan nasional jadi saya pikir mereka akan membuat lebih banyak rekor.”

caramel corn!

we got some popping corn on the cob from one of the farms a couple weeks ago, which i LOVE.  pop corn is a seriously under appreciated snack.  first of all, it does not have to come in a bag or be made in the microwave.  its healthier, more fun, and more delicious made on the stove top.

it doesn’t have to be complicated.  the first batch i made with a little olive oil and salt.  delish.

i was craving sweet and salty this time, so i decided to try to make caramel corn.

caramel corn:

1/2 – 1 cup popping corn
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup canola oil
salt

get a pot with a tight fitting lid.  get the oil really hot.  a good way to test it is to throw a kernel or two in the oil first, and once they pop, toss the rest in.  when you put the corn in, add the brown sugar. and cover the pot.  it’s VERY IMPORTANT not to let the contents sit still, or the sugar will burn, ruining everything and making a horrible mess.  this means you’re gonna be shaking the pot for a few minutes, which tends to be noisy, so don’t do this in an apartment late at night or your neighbors might hate you.  i used a (dry) kitchen towel to hold the lid on tight while i kept everything moving.  when the popping slows to a halt, take it off the fire, pour into a bowl, and let cool. seriously, let it cool, i burnt the crap outta my lip with a molten piece.  while it’s cooling, add a little salt, and stir it a couple times to break up the clumps.  voila, delicious caramel corn.

Average Song For Good Cause

I know, I know. I am posting a song from Natalie Bassingthwaigthe, don’t worry I haven’t gone round the bend.

For the same-sex law reform campaign, Wear It With Pride, Nat recently teamed up with the LGBT Health Alliance to celebrate the 85 new same-sex law reforms.

They made a video, filled with celebrity cameos to her track Love Like This. It’s camp as all get up, but thats the point.

Some of the arrangements in the song are also quite good, its one of Nat’s better ones.

I feel like I don’t know the country where my origins are from at all.

Iran – thousands of miles away, an ocean between us.

Born and raised in Canada, my exposure to Iranian culture has been solely through
my family and their tight knit group of  friends.

I hardly have any Iranian friends, most are Canadian.

For the longest time I wished I didn’t have Iranian heritage, that I was simply Canadian like the rest. As I grew older I realized that being an individual is better than being the same.

But it’s difficult trying to connect to a country I know only a minimum of. Yes, yes, I follow the politics broadcasted on international news – but is that even accurately representing a culture?

Last year, I wrote a profile on Abjeez for McClung’smagazine. Abjeez is an Iranian sister-duo based in Sweden. They play reggae-flamenco-Persian inspired music and a lot of their lyrics are oriented around what it’s like being young in Iran. They sing about the youth-drug problem and how old archaic traditions can be limiting and suffocating. After writing the article, I wanted to know more about the culture but didn’t know where to turn.

The political situation in Iran sucks, I think we all know that, but what about the people? What about the youth? What are they like? Besides young men rocking rooster-hair cuts (thanks Vicemagazine for filling me in) what’s the culture like there?

I think it’s important to learn about your heritage, so I’m going to start.
